Tuesday, July 14, 2009 |I've decided to post all the poems here up till now, for everyone to see... I don't want them to die :X. 1. Disdain. Disdain,Disdain Oh the pain, that comes from the word, Disdain. The word caused slavery to be rife and with little care for life Heroines which you all know well Tried to fell these problems However this was not to be As you can see Disdain still happens. Disdain wasn't against the law Though it led to many mini wars What on earth has our world come to? People have lost social ingenuinty. Their respect for each other lost Disdain is rampant in New York City And ah, so high is the cost. Disdain, Disdain, How In-Humane. 3.The Rhyming City2. The Recorder I have an old recorder who's behaviour's kind of queer listens to hardly any order and speaks like a seer It's more or less at home sitting down and passing the time it speaks the same lines again and again and is not much taller than a gnome. Luckily, it never does any crime and advising others is its game. This old recorder, really is a recorder It never steps out of place, Repeats the same lines day and night every time in a different order. A smile is frequently on its face, And resents every fight. But alas, it does forget sometimes what people do say. A thousand faces it has met but most forgotten in a day. Oh this old recorder, i really do love it so But it's part of high maintainence and i have to bend low But still, it isn't there for my convenience It's one thing that i love alot! There is a city, Somewhere in Mississippi, A hidden city, which no one finds, But merely step into it, blind. There was once a man named Jake, He came across this city, On his way to a lake, And realized, he wasn’t anymore in Mississippi! The city was bright and the buildings tall Everyone was happy; everyone was having a ball. However, something was absurdly wrong in the town Everything rhymed, every sound. Novels, which he browsed in stores, Conversations, which he heard in shores. And even sound, like bada-bing-bada-boom Little did he know, this was to be his doom. He walked through the bizarre town full of alarming things He even saw a man with a head shaped like a duckling Confused, he rang the doorbell for a house. “Hello, Hello? I am Jake, and am wearing a blouse.” He had not intended to say that, but it seemed he HAD to rhyme. The door opened, and a woman brought him in, looking at the time. She turned to him, her face looking warm. “Would you like tea?” “Yes. And for a side dish, bring me a pea.” The woman turned and walked away. This was way too bizarre for Jake. Maybe this was a dream, and everything here was fake. He pinched himself, and oh did it hurt. He gasped in pain, and grabbed his shirt. The woman came in again, and said, “I’m sorry, there’s no more tea.” “That’s okay. I just want to pee.” Jake got up, and proceeded to the toilet, hands shaking with fear. I’ve GOT TO GET OUT OF HERE! What if I say something to rhyme but It comes out wrong. Will I get beaten up? Will they sing me a song?!?! What the??!? IT”S WORSENING! IT”S EVEN IN MY MIND! Thinking of this, now Jake knew a escape path was his to find. He ran out into the streets, and saw a sign, reading “Way out”. He ran for the path, bumping into someone who screamed, “YOU LOUT!” When he got out, he finally escaped, he stopped rhyming. That was when he realized, a part of him actually liked it He liked the rhyming and the bizarreness. It gave life so much- Zest- so much- Uniqueness, instead of the usual grind. Maybe his escape was really to the city of rhymes, and not to escape out of it. Dosen’t everyone want to escape from normal life every now and then? 4. A sweet melancholy Let me sing you a Sweet melancholy Of the tale of an escapee Her gullible heart was saddened After the wound in her heart deepedend A bird stuck in a cage, with its wings clipped. Her sense of trust totally flipped. Her only guiding light- Her only sibling. A short nudge on the winding road to - death - was singing. The cage was torn asunder But this was a gargantuan blunder And the irony of it all; was that she would fall. In the midst of all the strife, is that her only hope was the one who had raised the knife. Why was a monster spawned from hope? And gave her pain with which she could not cope? Greed was her hope's wrong. Money is the evil of this song. ~Let me sing you a sweet melancholy~ 5. The Field There is a field, Where dreams become reality. But it has been sealed away. Oh, what a tragedy … This is a tale of four men. And their adventure to reveal this mystery Ventured through many lands, and even got a tan, Kicked dodo birds out of history! (Literally!) Crossed deserts and mountains, And even saw unicorns drinking booze from magical fountains! (Fantasy! Fantasy! Fantasy!) They were caught for felony a few times, But that created more enzymes! (Protease, Maltase, Lipase!) Then they were eaten by a killer whale, But when they went inside it was a – Robinson’s Sale! Then they fought zapping transformers, Which they beat with lawn mowers! At long last, they reached the gate of fate, Which brought them to the field. Ms. Universe was waving in her corner, We had to show some appeal. This was our field! It was green! But now, it’s just a dream! 6. Someone i don't know There's this person, Who's always at the same place, at the same cafe, at the same time, I think i've seen her commiting arson, but that person dosen't intertwine with this one's face, who's innocently sitting there, flipping a dime. Intricate patterns always fill her eyes, Deep, lost, forgotten, somehow she resembles me. She's always staring pensively into the sky, Looking at things i can't see. Interstingly familiar, her behaviour. I'm sure i've encountered it before. For sure she's no saviour. And thinking who she is makes my brain sore. Just who is this woman? And why does she seem so far, yet so near. Everytime i approached her, she seemed to be finished. And left. The next day she would return, when i did. And would order coffee, when i did. She's too familiar to me. What she does for me to see. Is what i do. 7.The Plunge There you are, standing on the edge of the water. Anxious on how or when to dive. But steel your heart, lest it may falter. Go ahead; jump in, once you have that Drive. No matter if the water is cool to the skin, Or hot to the feel, It does not matter, running away here is a sin. So break free from the shackles of fear, And let everything click into place, like a gear. Do not be afraid; greet the water with open arms, For the pressure it presses onto you are good alms. But know your limit, do not delve into too deep, And if you need to, go up to breath, lest you weep. This plunge is one that we all take, The true magic here is to find the courage to plunge, To dive deeper into the water, and face your fears. Don’t stand on the fence, go onto either side. Dive into the water. Take the plunge. Do not be afraid. 8. This poem is just below this post, so yeah. So Anyway, besides the poem recap, I just went for the SYF gold with honours SHOWCASE today, and well, I've gotta say i'm unimpressed. D:< The first play was about asian values and I thought that was really bad. I won't say which school for fear of.. implying anything. (But i've already done that, no?) The rest were... Okay... But were lackluster in a right. I semi-enjoyed it. The only very good thing was that I skeeped classes ;D. Going off to play Dotar. Bye bye. Peace - Poems |
